• Preventive care Perhaps the most important service we can perform is that which prevents you from having major dental problems. Early detection of periodontal disease reduces risk of pain, damage to teeth and gums. Prevention can reduce the risk of costly dental treatment in the future. Regular professional visits are the key to keeping your care simple. We stress gentleness in all that we do. Remember, "We Cater to Cowards".
• Fillings Fillings are indicated when a tooth has been compromised by decay. Fillings have come a long way! The newest generation of dental materials allows a decayed tooth to be restored to its original brilliance. While silver and gold restorations are available, the newest tooth colored composites provide long lasting beauty. Your dentist will be happy to discuss the advantages of different materials at the time of your appointment.
• Tooth Whitening We offer two types of tooth whitening, at home and in office.
At Home: We make a special whitening mouthpiece customized to fit precisely over your teeth. The whitening material is placed in the mouthpiece and worn for a specified amount of time per day. This type of whitening takes two to four weeks to complete. After completion of the whitening process, a 4 to 5 shade change is usually achieved.
In Office: Solution is placed on the teeth and activated by a high tech whitening light operating at specific wavelengths. The actual whitening takes about an hour to complete and generally whitens teeth up to 8 shades. Because of the materials used during the procedure, the teeth continue to whiten for up to 2 days after the whitening appointment. Now, your smile can be transformed in just an hour.
• Root Canal If the tooth's nerve chamber becomes injured or infected by decay, a root canal is often the only way to save the tooth. The inside of your tooth is a pulp of blood vessels and nerves. The root canals, where the pulp lives, extend all the way into the jaw bone. Deep tooth decay can cause damage and infection to the pulp nerves and vessels. Root canal treatment cleans out the infected pulp chamber and canals. Once the canals are cleaned, they are filled and sealed with a material called gutta percha. Most root canals require a crown to complete the procedure and seal the tooth. In most cases we perform root canals in our office. Some cases require referral to a root canal specialist (endodontist).
• Crowns A crown is prescribed when a tooth is fractured, has a large filling which is deteriorating, or is severely damaged by decay. A crown will protect the remaining tooth structure. There are different types of crowns including: + Full porcelain crown. + Porcelain fused to metal crown. + Gold crown The tooth structure and esthetics will determine which type of crown is used.
Creating a crown requires at least two office visits. First to remove decay and shape the tooth, and take an impression which will be sent to a laboratory. We will cement a temporary crown in place. When the permanent crown is ready, it will take the place of the temporary and be cemented in place.
• Denture We offer several types of dentures to fit your price range. Dentures are repaired while you wait and relines are typically completed within 2 hours.
