Dr. Lacoste was born and raised in the New Orleans area. After graduating high school from The New Orleans Academy
in 1972, he began his undergraduate studies at Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana, but ultimately received

Degree from the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans in 1980.
Dr. Lacoste began practicing as a solo dentist with a single dental chair on St. Claude Avenue in 1980. From the
beginning of his professional career, he devoted himself to a “Gentle Dental” concept within his dental practice,
addressing patient anxiety with understanding and reassurance.
In the early 1990’s, Dr. Lacoste brought his “Gentle Dental” message to the airwaves, hosting a weekly live radio
show on WTIX called “The Gentle Dental Spotlight.” The highlight of the radio show was the conversation that ensued
when listeners would call in to speak about their dental fears. Dr. Lacoste has always felt that dental fear has
played just as significant a role towards tooth loss as decay or gum disease.
Over the past 30 years, Dr. Lacoste has been able to bring together a large, diversified and talented group of
dentists and dental specialists who collectively share and promote the principles of “Gentle Dental” care. The small New Orleans office has grown to group
practices in nine locations throughout Southeast Louisiana: Covington,
Slidell, Hammond, Lakeside Shopping Center in Metairie, Bogalusa, Boutte,
Raceland, Gonzales, and, of course, St. Claude Avenue in the Ninth Ward and
Bywater area of New Orleans.
Dr. Lacoste is a member of the American Dental Association, the Louisiana Dental Association,
the New Orleans Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. He always finds time to be with family and
friends, and enjoys fishing and playing music.
